Meet Sarah smithers, LMsw, Therapist in east lansing, MI
You’re already stronger than you think you are.
Take back control of your anxiety, process and heal trauma, and create healthier, happier relationships so you can thrive.
Do you remember a time when anxiety, trauma, and challenges in relationships weren’t the “norm” but those days feel like a distant memory. Don’t you wish you had the tools to change that?
If so, You’ve come to the right place.
I’m here to help you find confidence, happiness, and fulfillment.
I’m Sarah Smithers, LMSW, and I help women and college students, just like you: ones that have it within them to be healthy, happy, and thriving again, but just need the support to get there.
I help my clients find confidence, happiness, and fulfillment by equipping them with the tools they need to better understand themselves and one another.
Many of today’s solutions for anxiety, trauma, and relationship issues are one-size-fits-all approaches and are not tailored specifically to each individual’s challenges. This leads to many to feel like they’re not making real progress or feeling dependent on others for validation and affirmation. I know that your circumstances are unique, so every step we take is tailored specifically to you, and always with an end goal in mind.
What it’s like to work with me as your therapist.
First, we examine your history, thought patterns, and relational dynamics that are causing challenges. Then, we learn about communication skills, heathy boundaries, and behavior changes that will be most effective for you. Through our work together, you’ll develop the skills and self-confidence to thrive in all aspects of life.
My style
I am dedicated to helping you discover a new outlook on life, heal, grow & move forward through counseling.
My training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and mindfulness means I have the expertise you need and deserve when working on healing the relationship with self and others.
At the end of the day, you want to know that you are working with someone who “gets” what it means to be challenges with anxiety, trauma, and relationship challenges, right?
I get it because I’ve struggled with these issues myself and have devoted my career to working with these challenges. I know that these challenges can feel all consuming and it can feel hard to keep trying. I understand, and when we work together you won’t just get a trained therapist and intuitive practitioner, you will get someone who genuinely understands what you are going through.
